How can we improve Geopointe?

  1. Allow Reports as Filter sources for a DataSet

    Use the resulting records from a tabular report as the source for a dataset. Reports are already created for sales goals, call plans, etc. Using these as a dataset would make it easier to focus on the most important customers as "pre-defined" via reports.

    • Allow non-geopointe Admin users the ability to create folders

      Rather me the Admin creating folders for user, I would love it if my Sales reps could create their own folders to stay organized. I understand the modeling around folders work like Report folders in SF, but it be nice if my sales reps could share folders with one another. This would limit some of the administration around creating folders, sharing, etc.

      • Would be great to save lists to "trips" that you could call back up--something like the add to Campaign, but would work with Accounts.

          We are confused by the term “Trips”. Can you clarify?

          From the description you gave, it sounds more like you are looking for a way to save lists of data you map in order to retrieve them again, but allow them to be against any objects (e.g Accounts) and not just leads/contacts like Add to Campaign. Is that right?

          Regardless of the name, it’s the ability to let you take results from the map and save them off somewhere so you can utilize them again, is that right?

          If this is the idea, we do like it, but might call it something generic like a “List”, but we get the idea.

          Another idea, if you like it…

          Salesforce currently has a feature (kind of new) called Topics for Objects. Suppose we were to have Geopointe check whether you’ve enabled topics for the object you are mapping and, if so, allow…

        • Creating a sub folders under the Shape folders

          It would be great if we can have ability to create sub folders for the Shape folders. This will make us to organize the territories better.

            • Option to Modify label font styling and font size on Map

              Currently we have an option of adding labels to the shapes but if the shapes are too close the labels are overlapping and they can't be read so it will be great if there is a way we can modify the font size and style on the map to make it look much clear.

              • Increase Link URL length.

                Increase Link URL length. We use the Link URL to pass values to automatically update fields on a Task object. Currently I cannot pass all the values due to the Link URL field character limit.

                • Don't allow multiple clicks on "save" button

                  Currently when creating new accounts in Geopointe using the "Create Account" button, it is possible to click the "save" button multiple times and each click creates a new duplicate record. This is a big problem for our sales reps working with slower internet connections who might not know if the first click worked if there is a delay, and for "click-happy" reps who click multiple times if they don't get an instant response. The button should grey out after you click it or at least not create more records when you click it multiple times.

                    • Split sub shapes into individual shape records.

                      Would it be possible to have a checkbox when creating a Shape with Subshapes to create individual shapes for each sub shape rather than one Shape?

                      If I wanted to create an assignment Plan for MSA's today I would need to create each of those shapes manually.

                      • Sort alphabetically with blanks last

                        It would be helpful if when sorting a column alphabetically the blank values would be at the bottom instead of the top. My accounts are ranked A, B, and C, but not all of them have a value in that field. When I sort A-->Z, all the blanks are at the top instead of the As. It's the same way in Salesforce for most column sorts, but it's annoying.

                        • export to csv using multibytes

                          I have noticed that when using the export to cvs button, it export the data without using multibytes, letter with accent (é,è,à,...) in names, streets, cities for international customers are replace by wierd characters. Could you please update this function as it would be a major improvment for us?

                          • The ability to pull relevant information about a shape regardless of data

                            When pulling information on shapes, the only data populated is information tied to data in Salesforce.

                            It would be useful to instead be able to pull all information associated with a shape (i.e. all zip codes within a shape, regardless of data points). The data is already there, it's just a matter of accessing it once someone builds a shape from "county" or "state" vs. "zip codes"

                            • Allow an admin to set a company's map default start position.

                              Use Case: Internal users are assigned to a specific geography, and they work out of the same location. Would be nice to set their default starting position to either the US or their specific geography before they ever go to the map the first time.
