Add search capability to look up accounts and contacts from Salesforce directly from Geopointe
It would be great to have a search option within Geopointe instead of having to search from Salesforce and clicking the "Map" button. It would also be a great addition if I could search for multiple records by name (also within geopointe) and see the pins on the map.

Layers and Shape in Salesforce1
The ability to use KML files or shapes in Salesforce1 would be very useful.
For example, if a customer uses layers to distinguish neighborhoods, and they need their outside sales team to say within certain boundaries, it would be useful to see the boundaries of that area on the mobile device, that way they know if they've gone out of their area.

Color Map Markers by Date Buckets
Be able to color code markers based on a range of dates when using a date field i.e. between 2/1/15 and 2/10/15 = Blue. Dates after 2/10/15 = Red. Currently, each marker represents a unique date.

Allow uncompleted shapes AKA lines to be drawn and saved on map.
Ability to draw/save lines on map. This is helpful for storing depictions of linear assets (roads, railways, pipelines, etc) which are not by nature polygonal. It would be handy to be able to save a line in the shape field, similar to polygons. Perhaps the line would be completed by double clicking on the last vertex.
This is possible to some extent today by creating a polygon which doubles back on itself precisely, such that a "zero width" polygon is form. For example, such a "line" polygon would have coordinates as follows: [[[Point a],[Point b],[Point c],[Point d],[Point e],[Point f],[Point g],[Point…

Allow KML and shape files to be associated with Salesforce records
We have a collection of various KML and GIS shape files that we would like to show on the map, as associated with a given opportunity, account, or asset. For instance, we have an account that we manage properties for. Each of the properties has already been created as a KML file. We would like to associate each KML file with that property, and assocatiate that property with the account.

Add ability to color Geoshapes based on parameter
It would be cool to have the ability to add Geoshapes from the library and than color those shapes based on the resulting records. For example, I might add a layer containing all counties in California, and than would want to color counties green when combined revenue exceeds 100K, yellow for 50-99K, etc.

Include an option for map projections
Currently all data is displayed in an unprojected (lat/lon) format. This unprojected format works in small areas, but distorts over larger regions making the world look flat. As an ArcGIS user, It would be a great addition to see some of the more common map projections in Spatial Key. Just pick a few of the more common ones from a list like this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_map_projections
1 voteThanks for the idea Matt. While it’s not something we directly control we will make sure the team at Spatial Key sees this idea.

Add Check In Option to reset What Location to Check In Location - Salesforce1
My company travels around the world, in locations that are often not available via geocoding or where the geocoding location is not accurate.
We would like the option on Check In to copy the checked in location to the current What location. This could be trigger by a check box (like the chatter post check box), by a distance from What Id threshold, or a more complex set of rules.
I would do this myself, but the code is locked.
1 voteDo you want this to happen all the time or on a case by case basis? If all the time you could write a trigger against our Check_In__c object to copy the values.

Auto-Select Records on the Map
Hi guys! I have a suggestion for some new functionality that would be handy.
It would be very helpful if you could automatically select a record on the map as a result of clicking the "Map" button on that record in SalesForce.
In effect, if I'm looking at an Opportunity and I click the Map button, Geopointe would load up, center the map on that address, AND select it (The little red checkmark appears over the pinpoint).
This would facilitate a use case like the following: The user wants to do a mass emailing to all Accounts within X miles…
1 voteHey Joseph, is this a custom apex action? If so, inside the geopointe.ActionRequest object we pass to your execute method contains a map of URL parameters. In here you should be able to pull out the id value. This will be id of the record the Map button was selected from.

Choose Calendar to Import to Route / Map
New import calendar feature is nice but it only allows you to map our own calendar. We have a call center who schedules appointments for our providers. They need access to import the provider's calendars rather than their personal calendar (ideally, with the ability to overlay multiple calendars on the screen) so that they compare accounts in the area and appointment availability.
Solution: add lookup field for user's to select which user's calendar to import.

Splitting a Search into Routes
In our business, we carry out something called a Blitz Day. Basically we take a few Sales people, do a radius search around one of our locations to find prospect customers, then the team split into mini teams and go and visit these customers with there own unique route.
This was done using excel, but GeoPointe was bought to replace this, but I can't seem to do it... certainly not easily anyway.
My request is, once you have done a radius search, for there to be an option to split this search up into an equal number of routes. either…
2 votesMatt, really like this idea. In terms of us adding a feature, your last suggestion of having a “Add all to Route” action inside the menu of a drawn shape is the quickest to implement and gives you a foundation for what you need. We are looking into this and did add it as a feature in our dev system.
One idea for a solution right now would be to use the Change Owner feature. Could you use that to outline a shape and change the owner for the different users that will run the route? Then you could do new queries for each owner and Add All to Route. Or, better yet, you could have them run a My Accounts type of search when they are logged in and do it themselves. Just a thought.
We like the idea you proposed, but wanted to give you an option for…

CBSA: Geocoded Census Core Based Statistical Areas Codes and Titles
Currently Geocode information includes parsed and standardized information, in addition to the geocoded information, such as Street(clean), City(clean), State/Province(clean),Postal Code(clean),Country(clean),County(clean).
Are there plans to include Geocode information by address or lat/lon to include identifiers for Census Core Based Statistical Areas (CBSA) Codes and Titles (ie. "CBSA Code(Clean)", "CBSA Title(Clean)")?

Radial Searches on Multiple Addresses
Currently to do a radial search you need to type in the address for each location. Would it be possible to have a data set with multiple locations and do a radial search from each one of those?
ie. We have multiple branch locations and want to find all accounts that are within XX miles from each location. Currently I am doing this one at a time.
1 voteTo include something like this in the User Interface of the Map page, we need more feedback on this.
However, we do offer 2 ways you could accomplish this today…
1) Write code. Our Apex API class allows you to perform radial searches. If you were to write a batch job to process a list of data, you could get what you want.
2) In Analytics. Our Analytics offering has this exact feature. Might be worth looking into. Contact support@arrowpointe.com if you want to try out Analytics. This is a situation where you’d be copying your data to the SpatialKey platform (our partner) and performing what you need in just a couple clicks.

HBS data for Performance and Business Environment
It would be helpful to include some of the aggregated HBS data for Performance and Business Environment in Geopointe Layers, if this has not already been done.
http://clustermapping.us/region
If this has been done, please let me know where I may find the information. Thanks.
1 voteVery cool! We’ll investigate. We are moving into bringing more geo-data into the map. Next release is boundary data and will be looking into data feeds and sources like you mention after that. This is a great source. Thanks for posting.

Include congressional district information
When geocoding an address also bring back legislative districts such as US House, State House, State Senate. City level information would be fantastic too.
9 votesYou are asking about data appending services, which we are investigating. More immediately, we will be providing the Congressional District boundaries for you to lay onto the map and then search inside of.

Convert latitude and longitude to Census tract
It would be very helpful if Geopointe would determine the U.S. Census tract from the latitude and longitude produced by Geopointe. That would enable us to figure out how many people we are reaching via Census tract and thus compare it to U.S. Census data.
1 voteWe like the general idea of appending data based upon lat/lon. We are beginning this with the introduction of our Territory Management solution coming out soon and will keep looking into it over time to allow other ways of appending.
Getting to the level of a Census Tract (very granular) is not super likely to be an early candidate. We like the idea, but realistically, appending other data would likely come first.
We’re leaving this open for more feedback. High demand will push this more to the top.

Salesforce1
Provide the ability to put the Geopointe map "button" on Salesforce1 mobile layouts. For example, we currently have the default Google maps button on our mobile layouts, but we want to use the Geopointe one just like we do via Salesforce browser.
13 votesThe Publisher Actions (similar to a button from the normal UI) are a bit limited, but we have discovered an approach that will remove the limitations. We’d love to provide a Map action from a record in Salesforce1 and bring the user to that location in the map page. We fully plan to do it. This is in Planned status for now while we do some prototyping.
