  1. Don't Auto zoom out!

When you click "edit" on a shape and are working on a small point it zooms out to the larger shape. If I am working on the zip level of a state wide shape then I have to re-zoom in to find my place. It would be nice if you edit the shape and it stays where you are working.

  2. Create a routing report including travel time and appointment time

We would like to be able to see a report that lists the appointment times and the travel times of a designated route including other custom fields. We want to be able to view or print a snap shot of a route without having to look at the both the route held in Geopointe and the mapping report.

Currently, you can see the route with the appointment times, or see the GPS routing with the mileage and travel times, but you can't see a combination report of both the appointment time and travel time. For example, when planning a demo…

  3. Increase Search Limit in SF1

Right now, when a user maps a dataset in Geopointe in the SF1 app, only 100 records can populate at a time. Most of our users have large territories to manage and usually do so on the mobile app out in the field. It would be ideal for them to have visibility into their entire territory rather than just 100 contacts.

  4. Show Specific Data Set Totals on Shapes

It's great that when I have multiple searches on the map that I can see the total number of records inside of a shape. This works especially well when my searches are two different map object types (ex. Accounts vs Contacts). However, sometimes I want to compare the numbers of two data sets within a shape. It would be great if when viewing a shape I could see the total records but then also see the records broken out by data set, especially when running searches on the same map object (ex. Total = 9; Accounts (Customers) = 4; Accounts…

  5. Allow for the ability to change "Label" text colors and background colors.

It would be helpful to be able to edit the text color and background color when displaying "labels" rather than "markers" in a data set. The black text with white background does not appear well on some maps.

  6. Continuously show Field names in columns while scrolling down in the Mapped Data list view

Submitted on behalf of Customer via support case

When you search a data set with a large number of fields, it can be hard to keep track of which field's column you are looking at in the Mapped Data list view. Customer suggests possibly keeping the field name above the values dynamically while scrolling down through the results, so that they can more easily keep track of which field column they are currently viewing values for.

  7. Option to Modify label font styling and font size on Map

Currently we have an option of adding labels to the shapes but if the shapes are too close the labels are overlapping and they can't be read so it will be great if there is a way we can modify the font size and style on the map to make it look much clear.

  8. Edit shapes from the Library

It would be great if after saving a shape from the shape library you could edit it like you can with a drawn shape. For instance if a sales rep's territory is an entire state and a bit of one next to it (bordering metro area, large town near the border of a big state, etc)

  9. See Assignment Area shape from URL parameter click

I'd like the ability to see the shape(s) a record has been assigned to with the click of a button. It would be similar to the &id= parameter with a shape field attached, but would allow me to see the area(s) it's been assigned to.

  10. The ability to pull relevant information about a shape regardless of data

When pulling information on shapes, the only data populated is information tied to data in Salesforce.

It would be useful to instead be able to pull all information associated with a shape (i.e. all zip codes within a shape, regardless of data points). The data is already there, it's just a matter of accessing it once someone builds a shape from "county" or "state" vs. "zip codes"

  11. Allow KML and shape files to be associated with Salesforce records

We have a collection of various KML and GIS shape files that we would like to show on the map, as associated with a given opportunity, account, or asset. For instance, we have an account that we manage properties for. Each of the properties has already been created as a KML file. We would like to associate each KML file with that property, and assocatiate that property with the account.

  12. Allow for NAIC Code Prospect Search

Being able to use the latest search feature to find new prospects and locations via NAIC code would be invaluable to businesses that generate prospective customers based on their specific line of business. Integrating this with your advanced mapping tools would greatly increase the efficiency of on-the-go searches for nearby businesses.

  14. Cross object fields returned in searches

I understand this would take a lot of configuration, but if I am filtering by cross object, accounts with opportunities stage = closed won, be able to have those related opportunities fields display in the search results. If an account had multiple opportunities that met the criteria list the account multiple times in the results.

  15. The ability to use Assignment Plans for lead assignment rules.

We allocate leads via the Salesforce lead assignment rules when they come in off of a web form.

We would like to replace our current method of assigning them through a number of rules with the Assignment Plans functionality, but right now the process of geocoding and assigning doesn't handle the process quick enough to do so.

  16. Remove the Limit Search

When working on getting the big picture for an area, it would be nice not to be limited to only 20. Working in a small area that may be ok. But being able to see all the coffee shops in a metro area would be much more helpful.

  17. Color Rules Bucketing of Undefined Values

Example: color rules are defined for a handful of zip codes. Currently, the application will still assign different colors to every other zip code not in the pre-defined list, but with the default color scheme. Instead, we would like to be able to color specific zip codes and have all other zip codes be the same color.

Ability for a user to @mention someone (i.e. their manager) in their check out post. This way their manager is quickly notified of how the meeting went. Avoids use of email.

  19. Multiple google search layers on Geopointe AND Mass create records

We would like to see multiple layers of address & Places results(Google Search) on the map kind of like the clear map on search checkbox (e.g. show me Albertsons stores and Vons) It be nice to have something like a Clear map on search checkbox like the one used on the dataset. Once I have this data it be nice if I could 'Mass Create Records' on the map.

    Then mass create records.

  20. Would be great to save lists to "trips" that you could call back up--something like the add to Campaign, but would work with Accounts.

It would be great to save lists to "Trips" that you could call back up--something like the add to Campaign, but would work with Accounts. "Trips" should be a reportable object within Salesforce.

We are confused by the term “Trips”. Can you clarify?

From the description you gave, it sounds more like you are looking for a way to save lists of data you map in order to retrieve them again, but allow them to be against any objects (e.g Accounts) and not just leads/contacts like Add to Campaign. Is that right?

Regardless of the name, it’s the ability to let you take results from the map and save them off somewhere so you can utilize them again, is that right?

If this is the idea, we do like it, but might call it something generic like a “List”, but we get the idea.

Another idea, if you like it…

Salesforce currently has a feature (kind of new) called Topics for Objects. Suppose we were to have Geopointe check whether you’ve enabled topics for the object you are mapping and, if so, allow…
