  1. Enable printing of a mapped dataset

We have many users who would like to print out a mapped dataset (without having to map a route and save to pdf, etc.). They use the print out as a reference while they work in other applications, etc. They'd like to be able to print right from the map and get something similar to the attached.

  2. Aggregate Data by State/Province

For marketing purposes, I would love to have a map that shows all the accounts we serve in each state/province in the US and Canada. It would be great if, instead of a single pin for each account, I could have a marker in each state labeled with the number of accounts served in that state. Even cooler would be if the markers were large for states with a lot of groups, and small for states with fewer groups.

  3. Work with multi-currency monetary fields

When working with Salesforce's multi-currency settings, the adjusted amount is not officially a field, just a returned value included with the field it's been applied to (such as the Opportunity Amount field). Unfortunately, Geopointe reads in the actual amount, not the adjusted amount, so any aggregated currency information is not correct. It would be great if the currency fields could tap into the multi-currency functionality so that the aggregates are an accurate representation of revenue and opportunity amount.

  4. Search nearby an entered address

One of the things we use Geopointe for is to advise end-users about the nearest resellers. This currently requires 2 steps: 1st enter the end-user address in "address and places" search, 2nd switch to the Dataset search to search for accounts "Nearby".
It would be great to be able to do this in one flow, i.e. to have the possibility to search for an address on the Dataset search tab under the Nearby option.

  5. Toggle current weather on and off

With our business we are constantly monitoring the weather. To be able to visually see certain account in certain regions and toggle the weather as you can with the traffic on and off would be awesome. Would need a live weather feed from Weather channel or some outside source.

  6. combine / run multiple searches on map at once

I have to run 8 separate searches (with "clear map on search" disabled) to get the picture I'm looking for.
there should be a way to mark all these and run them at once.

  7. Share routes with groups or roles.

I need to share multiple routes with a group of people everyday and would be more efficient if we could share the route with a group or a role.

  8. Choose Calendar to Import to Route / Map

New import calendar feature is nice but it only allows you to map our own calendar. We have a call center who schedules appointments for our providers. They need access to import the provider's calendars rather than their personal calendar (ideally, with the ability to overlay multiple calendars on the screen) so that they compare accounts in the area and appointment availability.

Solution: add lookup field for user's to select which user's calendar to import.

  9. Add ability to color Geoshapes based on parameter

It would be cool to have the ability to add Geoshapes from the library and than color those shapes based on the resulting records. For example, I might add a layer containing all counties in California, and than would want to color counties green when combined revenue exceeds 100K, yellow for 50-99K, etc.

  10. Splitting a Search into Routes

In our business, we carry out something called a Blitz Day. Basically we take a few Sales people, do a radius search around one of our locations to find prospect customers, then the team split into mini teams and go and visit these customers with there own unique route.

This was done using excel, but GeoPointe was bought to replace this, but I can't seem to do it... certainly not easily anyway.

My request is, once you have done a radius search, for there to be an option to split this search up into an equal number of routes. either…

Matt, really like this idea. In terms of us adding a feature, your last suggestion of having a “Add all to Route” action inside the menu of a drawn shape is the quickest to implement and gives you a foundation for what you need. We are looking into this and did add it as a feature in our dev system.

One idea for a solution right now would be to use the Change Owner feature. Could you use that to outline a shape and change the owner for the different users that will run the route? Then you could do new queries for each owner and Add All to Route. Or, better yet, you could have them run a My Accounts type of search when they are logged in and do it themselves. Just a thought.

We like the idea you proposed, but wanted to give you an option for…

  11. All Locations

Currently the Map allows the user to show their own Locations called 'My Locations', which is great, but as an organization with many business addresses, to have these setup for all users would be ideal. So my proposition is to allow the custom views of GeoLocations so they can switch from 'My Locations' to 'All Locations' or other saved views.
Basically, carry over the views saved in the GeoLocations tab.

    Hope that makes sense.

    Matt

  12. Assign marker shape in addition to marker color

We just started with Geopointe and I found that if I let the software predefine my markers and I map two data sets (e.g. leads and accounts), I end up with two different items in the legend using the exact same marker. I would like to be able to assign the marker shape to a data set en masse instead of value-by-value, such as have all my leads have a circle in the marker and have all my accounts be solid, so that at a glance I can easily distinguish two markers of the same color.

  13. SF Event - Meeting Location needs to converted as a GeoPointe

I imported my SF scheduled meeting events and noticed that it did not import the "address" that was listed in the "Meeting Location" within the SalesForce Event Activity.

I work with many contacts that we don't alway meet at their "mailing address" because they have multi-plants.

  14. Stylize Map to Black & White for better visibility of markers

I'd like the ability to have the road-based map stylized in black and white for better visibility of the markers. I know that OpenMaps has this option, not sure if I've seen this in Google's native API, but I have seen this desaturation trick work:

    http://jsfiddle.net/alan1986/R5PXH/1/

This really makes the markers "pop" but you do not lose the usefulness of the roads/boundaries.

Love the idea. The consideration on our end is that Google has limitation on how many styled maps are loaded in a day. While I don’t see this as a huge use case, it’s what we have to consider before just implementing this.

  15. External layers allow browse to hard drive

I have KML files on my hard drive and don't want to use an external url for mapping. I would like the opportunity to browse for a KML file

  16. Change a data set color on the fly

I'd love to be able to go to the map legend and change the data set color within the legend or on the map.

  17. Ability to save a specific search

Data Sets are great and very flexible, but I'd love to be able to save a detailed search. Perhaps I want to regularly search 50 miles around a specific address and color the pins by a certain field. I'd love to be able to bookmark that situation and run it rather than having to recreate it manually.

It's not difficult to recreate the search, but being able to save those very specific searches could be nice.

  18. Open Multiple Location Flags (or pin names) at the same time.

As all the pins appear, we naturally hover over each to see who they are. Then we click into the Pin to see the details flag. Back and Forth, Back and Forth... I'd love to be able to keep multiple flags open at the same time. Having the flag location be adjustable for printing maps would be great too.

  19. See the data list without needing to scroll down the page

When I map data, I see the map first and a list below. The list is great because it has all of the details, but it would be really nice to see the list of records inline with the Map so I don't have to scroll down. Even if it's not the entire table and just the name of the record, that'd be a big win.
