Sales Territory Realignment, Reassignment, and Optimization
Create several additional features, but all striving towards similar objectives:
Optimize the number and placement (territory boundaries) of sales associates according to account potential|prospects|accounts and constrained by workload|call time, travel time, and drivability, while simultaneously minimizing account disruption.
Quickly lasso (or polygon select) accounts/markers on a map and provide summary information/analytics on those accounts.
Apply what-if analysis/scenario-building/ad-hoc “digging” with respect to re-drawing territories. Concretely, plot accounts and prospects for associate A and B and then let me tag (or lasso select) a subset of accounts from associate A and see “what happens” as a result of assigning that subset to associate B.
Maybe some of this is covered by Analytics/SpatialKey, but not all?

This request feels as if It channels every dream I have had about a GIS system that is integrated with Salesforce.

I am evaluating Geopointe at the moment as we have a requirement to perform territory management based on rebalancing a territory for AUM. I see you have "hotzone" type mapping which allows you to see the amount of opps or value in each territory but can you then take that and "draw shapes" to rebalance those territories?

As a follow up, these built-in analytics could be extension of the dialogue/content box that pops-up after you click on polygon/shape in the current release (March 2014). Currently, this box populates with "Accounts: [Total Accounts]" -- further, it appears to have a two-way binding (i.e., when you drag to update the shape and lasso additional points/markers, the content box updates immediately). The addition of other metrics, such as, totals by priority flags (low, medium, high), totals by dollars/potential, etc. would be valuable.
These features, in combination with the the new "Change Ownership" functionality would make Geopointe a very attractive territory alignment solution. It would not have the automatic optimization/algorithms as alluded to in #1 above, however, for various low-scale, ad-hoc adjustments, I think the features/additions mentioned would satisfy many user requirements/needs.
