Place your own point inside of a custom shape and show the distance to all of the other data points.
(Example) If I use the nearby search and you are next to a river, things that show up as close are actually very far away to get to on the other side. Just take more time to use.

Drive distance would really help with this. A radial search plus the addition of a 'drive distance <= X' would really help to refine searches. Transportation link flags would help too. EG. Train stations and distance etc...

And the distance (direct and driving also would be great) of points in a shape to a point outside of the shape. For example, if your territory was one shape, but your factory was outside that shape, but you want to know the distance to your cutomers in your territory
