How can we improve Geopointe?

  1. Show Specific Data Set Totals on Shapes

    It's great that when I have multiple searches on the map that I can see the total number of records inside of a shape. This works especially well when my searches are two different map object types (ex. Accounts vs Contacts). However, sometimes I want to compare the numbers of two data sets within a shape. It would be great if when viewing a shape I could see the total records but then also see the records broken out by data set, especially when running searches on the same map object (ex. Total = 9; Accounts (Customers) = 4; Accounts…

    • Allow you to set mappings by record type, not just by object.

      It would be very helpful to be able to map record types.

      My use case is that we have 2 different account record types, one has a billing address and the other has a shipping address. Because they are all Accounts I can only set the mapping to one set of addresses. You can't create a new address field in Salesforce so I can't set up a work around formula field that picks the right address to use.

      • Transport links to be included as an optional search filter

        We use Geopointe heavily when planning our seminar and event activity. Links to public transport need to be considered but always need to be planned outside of Geopointe.

        I would like to see an optional filter (check or uncheck to show/hide) that shows train/ tube (subway) station locations in order to give additional information to our attendees and plan events at the most accessible locations.

        • subtract shapes

          You can add multiple shapes to a map but can you add one shape and then subtract where it overlaps another shape?

          A use case would be distance from a point in multiple circles. Say you want from 50 miles away to 100 miles away from a fixed point. You would need to make a 100 mile radius circle, then a 50 mile radius circle and remove it from the 100 Mile one, creating a ring.

          Or if your territory was all Illinois except for Chicago, it would be great to put an Illinois shape on the map and subtract/cut…

          • Select many rows in list by using Shift

            When selection many consecutive rows in the list below the map you need to select on by one. It would be great if you could select many by using Shift as you do in many applications.

            • Search field list when creating filters

              It would be great if you could search the list of filter fields like you can in Salesforce report building. So if I was looking for "invoice date" but had multiple date fields (close date, invoice dat, start date, etc) I could search the word "date" and see everything with "date" in the field name even if it wasn't the first word in the field.

                Would like a way to turn on hover information in regular mode on the map like it is in record selection mode.

                  • Import shapefiles into Geopointe

                    Many customers use programs like ArcGIS to create territory boundaries that may or may not lines up with government boundaries. Rather than having to redraw those in Geopointe, it would be nice to be able to see and interact with those on the map.

                    • Choose which filter fields come from SF.

                      It would be really helpful to be able to limit which filter fields pull from Salesforce so you can remove hidden fields and others that you don't need in Geopointe so they won't clutter up the list and confuse end users. For example, have something in the Geopointe setup where you would have all fields from SF on the left and you could move the ones you want to be in Geopointe to the right.

                      • Add capability to "save" a map

                        It would be ideal to have a method for saving a map view. For example, if I zoom the map to my desired location, add a few data sets, and add some shapes, it would be great to capture that map state. That way I can open the map without having to search for my data sets, re-add desired shapes, etc.

                          Being able to use the latest search feature to find new prospects and locations via NAIC code would be invaluable to businesses that generate prospective customers based on their specific line of business. Integrating this with your advanced mapping tools would greatly increase the efficiency of on-the-go searches for nearby businesses.

                          • Allow Different Marker Colors for Route Locations

                            I have created a data set that uses different colored markers for different types of opportunities. When I run a search, those various markers are displayed correctly. However, when I add them to a route and view the route (in the print PDF view), all the markers are the same color.

                            Is there a way to show the different colored markers in the print PDF view? This would help our salespeople know which types of opportunities they are visiting.

                            • Allow field set for Assignment Area page layout.

                              On the assignment Area object there is a User field that we can use to assign the owner of a record. We are finding that in our territories we need to assign more than one user to different fields. A manager field, a partner user field... ect. I can create a new user lookup field and then in our Process Builder automation I can trigger an update to the field. The problem is that the users cannot update the new custom field on the Assignment Plan because it does not show up on the Assignment Plan edit page.

                                Ability to have the saved routes listed from newest to oldest. Currently my users have to scroll down to find the route they saved. In addition have the ability to filter routes by year and month.

                                • Enable/keep "color by field" rules for routes

                                  We love the "color by field" option to have the markers themselves provide information...but that doesn't work when looking at a route. it would be helpful to be able to edit those markers. Or even better, when creating a route from a data set with markers, provide the option to carry the marker colors over from the data set.

                                    Instead of having to view separate layers of data sets, it would be nice to have multiple fields with their own color codes within a data set.

                                    • Allow non-geopointe Admin users the ability to create folders

                                      Rather me the Admin creating folders for user, I would love it if my Sales reps could create their own folders to stay organized. I understand the modeling around folders work like Report folders in SF, but it be nice if my sales reps could share folders with one another. This would limit some of the administration around creating folders, sharing, etc.

                                      • Remove duplicate accounts when adding to route from a shape.

                                        This would be very helpful when overlaying multiple data sets that display duplicate accounts.

                                        • Accounts imported into Geopointe from the Account View / Map Records feauture, does not allow filtering capabilities to those records

                                          We have many users that have created 20+ Account screen Views specific to their territory. When the account view is selected and "Map Records" is clicked all of the accounts do show up in Geopointe. However, from here we are unable to apply the Geopointe filter/dataset logic since the records were not created by a Geopointe native Dataset. I would like the ability to apply the dataset logic to records brought into Geopointe from a Account view list. Instead.
