Additionally it might be nice to have other universally-defined geographies available, such as congressional district. It's not needed in my industry, but I think it could be relevant in others.

Couldn't you export the ArcGIS to kml and import that to Geopointe? Or would that no allow you to set territories?

We've come up with additional use case for this as a see where we'll be map on our website.
I suppose the challenge is that how much access does the website user get to move around, drill down into locations, etc.Aron Kuch supported this idea ·

This would be great for us as we could post "Today's Visitors" on monitors in our lobby without having the Salesforce header or the other user features.

Understandably this could be difficult because once you allow for states, then outside the US, you need something else. Or different users will want counties or MSA's or any number of other territories.

We are looking into ways we can allow you to manipulate data once its already on the map. It’s not what you are asking for, but one thing we did roll out is a charting feature that lets you analyze data once it’s on the map. See http://www.arrowpointe.com/2013/07/18/geopointe-july-2013-release/ for some info on that.

I had voted for this, but with the May '14 update, it feels pretty close to done.

Love the idea, but would like more people to jump in on this idea before we really get into it. It’s an open-ended idea with lots of possibilities. Looking for some more direction.

For us, at least one use is that it would greatly simplify our email process. We have an third part email client within Salesforce that uses reports as the input for populating a specialty campaign. Currently we take our Geopointe, Add to Campaign, and then create a report of the "clients" in the report so that they can get added to the emailing app's campaign.

I just had a pair of users come ask me how to email a map (dataset + search radius/shape, maybe layers or places) to another user. They just assumed that you could copy the url because that works in most all of Salesforce.

There's a bit of a work-around for this at http://support.arrowpointe.com/url-parameters/, which can work for a technical person sending one or two searches to endusers.
But it would be much better if Geopointe would automatically create the url and have it available for copying. I would place it under the Save dropdown menu on the pins tab. Then on-technical people can send to each other and/or bookmark for themselves.Aron Kuch supported this idea ·

We are looking into this. Currently, Google needs to be able to access the file from their servers. More likely than a harddrive mapping would be an upload option.

I would like to add US zip codes and school districts to the list of possible layers/shapes.
I think they're technically called SCF (Sectional Center Facility).
